Resending: The 3 LinkedIn Post Types to grow your LinkedIn presence (+ hook examples)


If you want to:

  • grow a following,
  • attract real leads,
  • and turn attention into revenue

you need just three types of LinkedIn posts .. used in the right ratio.

Let’s break them down (with examples + plug-and-play prompts).


📈 1. The “Subtle credibility building” Post

Buzzwords, or titles aren't enough.

Instead, tell a story that shows your credibility .. subtly.

Example Hook:

👉 “3 years ago, I thought pricing high would scare clients away. Turns out, it was the opposite.”

Structure:

  • Setup: A moment of failure, doubt, or learning
  • Shift: What changed? What did you realize?
  • Result: A real-world outcome or principle that now guides you

Prompt (use this to write your own):

Write about a belief you used to have about your work.
What changed it, and
What that taught you.

This builds trust + authority .. in a subtle way.


💥 2. The “Idea People Can’t Ignore” Post

This type has a "chance" at going viral (anyone that 'guarantees' virality is fooling you).

It’s contrarian, bold, and makes people think “I have to comment" -> either to agree, or to disagree. Either way, it gets conversations started in the comments.

Example Hook:

👉 “If you post ‘authentically’ and still get no engagement, you’re not being authentic. You’re being vague.”

Structure:

  • Open with a sharp take or insight
  • Use contrast or data to back it up
  • End with a challenge or thought-provoking question

Prompt (use this to write your own):

Take a strong belief you have about your industry.
Now flip the common advice on its head.
Make your case in 3 sentences.

This gets reach. But more importantly ... it sparks DMs from the people who agree with that take.


(Quick Note: The "top" recommendation by Justin Welsh in his LinkedIn Operating System course is "make sure your posts create a 'divide'" - vanilla posts get buried in the noise. To stand out, you need to say the quiet part out loud).


💼 3. The “Monetizable” Post

This is where growth turns into leads.

You highlight a transformation you helped create without making it sound like a pitch.

Example Hook:

👉 “This 2-sentence message landed me a $6K client in 24 hours. Here’s exactly what I sent…”

Structure:

  • Mini case study or win
  • Break down the “why it worked” behind the scenes
  • Invite discussion or curiosity

Prompt (use this to write your own):

Think of an old or recent win you helped someone achieve.
Break down how you made it happen.
Step-by-step.

This is your silent sales funnel. It builds trust by showing that you're not just a talker, you get results!


🚀 How frequently should each be posted?

If you overdo any specific kind of posts, they lose their impact. Ideally, aim for:

🧠 1 Authority Post

💥 2 Idea Bombs

💼 1 Monetizable Story

(Repeat weekly)

That rhythm builds audience, trust, and inbound, over time.
